Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, reported The Indian Express. Wang is on a three-day visit, from August 12-14. He is expected to meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as well.
After landing in Goa on Friday, Wang met Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar to discuss the upcoming BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) summit, which will be held there in October. In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Wang will speak to Indian officials about the G20 summit, scheduled for Hangzhou in the first week of September.
China recent opposition to India's bid to join the Nuclear Suppliers Group and New Delhi's stand on banning Masood Azhar, leader of the Jaish-e-Muhammad terror group will be discussed during the Chinese minister's meeting with Swaraj.
