The Union Culture Ministry on Friday had to remove a video it had uploaded on Twitter for Independence Day celebrations after users found that it had used an image of a Pakistani fighter jet with an Indian flag pasted on it. The video, titled “70 years of Independence” showed two JF-17 planes flying with what look like a shoddily photoshopped Indian flag on them. The video was meant to promote an online system for construction applications made to the National Monuments Authority.
China and Pakistan jointly developed the JF-17. The jet looks somewhat like the Indian Tejas fighter plane. The Pakistan Navy had in 2011 used Indian warships in one its own advertisements.
