A constable was killed and another one was injured when militants opened fire on a police station in Assam's Karbi Anglong area on Saturday, reported ANI. The incident comes a day after two civilians were killed in an attack orchestrated by the United Liberation Front of Asom in Tinsukia district. At least five locals were injured in the attack.
Saturday's incident was announced by Deputy General of Police Mukesh Sahay. On Thursday, militants detonated an improvised explosive device in Badalbheta Tea Estate. However, nobody was injured in the incident, reported The Times of India. The local administration has beefed up security in the region as the attacks come close to Independence Day, reported dna.
