Indian boxer Vikas Krishnan defeated Turkey's Onder Sipal 3-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the men’s middleweight (75 kg) event at the Rio Olympics on Friday.
The 24-year-old from India showed immaculate defence and fought off Sipal’s aggression to secure a comfortable victory. Krishnan used his quick reflexes to ensure that he did not miss his punches in a tight bout, leaving Sipal with a cut above his right eye in the first round.
Krishnan will face Uzbekistan's Bektemir Melikuziev on Tuesday.
