Indian badminton player PV Sindhu began her Olympic women's singles campaign with a straight sets win over Hungary’s Laura Sarosi on Thursday.
Making her debut at the Olympics, Sindhu outclassed her opponent 21-8 21-9 to win the match. Sindhu was ruthless in her approach and left nothing to chance. She went after every point to completely dominate the match. .
PV Sindhu, currently with a world ranking of 10, is in Group M with Canada’s Michelle Li (ranked 20th) and Hungary’s Laura Sarosi (64th). Sindhu will next take on Li on Sunday.
