India’s PV Sindhu began her Olympic campaign with a decisive win against Hungary’s Laura Sarosi. Making her Olympic debut, Sindhu won in straight sets of 21-8, 21-9 against her opponent. Sindhu was ruthless in her approach and left nothing to chance, going after every point to completely dominate the match.
She is currently ranked at No 10, in Group M with Canada’s Michelle Li (ranked 20) and Hungary’s Laura Sarosi (64th). Her next match will be against Li on August 14.
