The Indian doubles pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy, who were making their Olympic debut, lost their match against the Indonesian duo World No. 2 Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan.
Ranked 16th in the world, the Attri and Reddy lost the match in straight sets. The pair fought hard in the first set losing 21-18. They tried to catch up with their opponents, but faltered in the end. In the second set, the Indonesians upped the ante to win 21-13.
Attri and Reddy will play their next match against China on Friday.
