Indian judoka Avtar Singh crashed out of the Rio Olympics on Tuesday after losing to the Olympics Refugee Team's Popole Misenga in the round of 32 of the men's 90 kg event. Misenga earned a point from a minor throw, while Singh got two warning shidos, which are penalties. Singh was given the shidos for being non-aggressive for a prolonged period of time.
Singh was the first Indian judoka to qualify for the Rio Olympics. He had won a gold in the 2016 South Asian Games and a bronze in the Asian Junior Judo Championships in 2011.
