Pakistan on Wednesday "strongly rejected" India's accusation that the country was instigating cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistani Foreign Office said in a statement: "We strongly reject Indian claim of any cross-LoC [Line of Control] infiltration. Pakistan remains committed to the policy of not allowing its territory for any terrorist activity against anyone." According to PTI, it said the "veracity of the Indian claim" needs to be verified.

The statement follows India's move on Tuesday to summon Pakistani High Commissioner Adbul Basit to issue a démarche on the matter and lodge its objection. Spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry Vikas Swarup said Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar brought up the recent arrest of Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba militant Bahadur Ali from North Kashmir.

According to the démarche issued, Ali had confessed to training in LeT camps and infiltrating India. "He was, thereafter, in touch with an 'operations room' of LeT, receiving instructions to attack Indian security personnel and carry out other terrorist attacks in India," it added.
