Indian boxer Vikas Krishan began his Olympic campaign on a winning note by beating the United States' Charles Conwell 3-0 in their middleweight category (75kg) round of 32 match. The 24-year-old did not have to sweat it out and made quick work of his opponent. He also stayed ahead on the judges' card for the entire match.

Krishnan, a two-time Olympian and quarter-finalist at the London Games in 2012, made sure he did not do anything rash and had a cool head all through the three-round bout.
