China may not be known to be a football powerhouse but on the second day of the women’s Olympic football competition, China stole the limelight, courtesy a 40-yard wonder goal from their 22-year-old midfielder Tan Ruyin in the 87th minute.
Of course, the goal-keeper could have done a better job with that, but it was still a tremendous effort from Tan as China went on to win the game 2-0. Their first goal had come in the stoppage time of half time through Gu Yasha.
Tan's effort went viral on social media as the world couldn't stop marvelling at her wonder strike.
