An exhibition and sale of saris designed by Vinay Narkar and made by weavers in Gadwal in Telangana using a traditional technique called kuttu, as well as those with kasuti embroidery from north Karnataka and Solapur.

MUSIC Stree Shakti at the NCPA Experimental Theatre and Taj Mahal Tea House
Stree Shakti, an all-female band made up of Hindustani and Carnatic classical musicians, will play two concerts this weekend to mark International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8. Led by percussionist Anuradha Pal, Stree Shakti includes vocalist Sharwari Nagwekar, kanjira player Krishna Priya, mridangam player Deepika Sreenivasan and violinist Charulatha Ramanujan. Tickets priced at Rs 250 and Rs 350 per head for the NCPA show are being sold on Bookmyshow.com. There is no entry fee for the recital at the Taj Mahal Tea House, which will feature Pal, Priya and Ramanujan.

MUSIC Karsh Kale at Blue Frog
Electro-folk-fusion rock multi-instrumentalist and composer Karsh Kale will play the Mumbai leg of his ongoing tour to promote his new album Up. Singers Benny Dayal and Monali Thakur will be the special guests at the gig, which will feature opening and closing sets by electronica DJ-producers Nerm Chauhan and Jayant Luthra respectively. TALKS Gagan Sethi and Vrinda Grover at Max Mueller Bhavan
Ahmedabad-residing development educator Gagan Sethi, who has helped set up several women’s organisations, will give a talk titled "What Is Still Unsaid" and Delhi-based lawyer Vrinda Grover will deliver a lecture titled "Legal Contestations: Testimonies and Testimonials". Curated by gallerist Arshiya Lokhandwala, this exhibition features works of art produced after 1997, the fiftieth anniversary of Indian independence. MUSEUM EXHIBITION Tabiyat at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya
Organised by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, the British Council and the Wellcome Collection UK, this exhibition of artworks and objects related to medical practice and health in the subcontinent is a capsule of Indian medical history. Most of the exhibits are from the Wellcome Collection, a museum in London run by the medical research charity Wellcome Trust. See here for details.
