The most notable of them were two kissing scenes, which were apparently “cut by 50%”. DNA quoted an official as saying that while the censor board had nothing against 007's trademark womanising ways, it was the passion that was the problem. The length of the kisses was apparently found to be “unnecessarily excessive”.
The other two cuts were allegedly for the use of profanity.
While there was no official word from the Censor Board of Film Certification, the speculation provided enough fodder for Twitter’s humourists. The hashtag “Sanskaari James Bond” – traditional James Bond – elicited some interesting suggestions about the ideal, “respectful” version of Indian James Bond.
