The disaster agency said that 10,000 people have been displaced, but no casualties have been reported so far.
Migrants enter Slovenia after Hungary shuts door
Hundreds of migrants began arriving in Slovenia on Saturday, a day after Hungary shut its border with Croatia, causing a redirection of their route to northern Europe. Slovenia, a small European Union-member state, has limited capacity to accommodate large numbers of migrants wishing to head toward Austria and Germany, the Associated Press reported. The BBC reported that the Slovenian army has agreed to provide support in logistics, transportation, human resources and "some technical areas".
4 Palestinian assailants shot dead

The incidents occurred despite the Israeli forces stepping up their presence in Jerusalem on Wednesday, adding hundreds of soldiers and security checkpoints. Jerusalem has been at the centre of violence between Palestinians and Israeli forces since the Jewish New Year last month, when rumours began to spread that Israel was plotting to take over the city’s holy Temple Mount.
US group scales down Egypt election monitoring
The United States group Democracy International said on Saturday it has been forced to scale down its plans to monitor Egypt's parliamentary election, after having trouble getting visas for all its staff. It said that without the necessary and appropriate visas for its accredited observers, it would not be able to conduct the comprehensive observation it originally expected to carry out, reported Reuters. The Egyptian election begins on Sunday, with the country being without a parliament since June 2012.
