Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said on Tuesday that the main suspect in Erawan shrine blasts had been taken into custody as he attempted to cross into Cambodia from Thailand. Investigators had learned that suspects were seeking to leave the country and they had traced the suspect to the Sa Kaeo crossing point. Almost a fortnight after the bombing, the motive remains a mystery. Security officials have already been interrogating a man arrested on Saturday during a raid on a Bangkok flat where bomb-making equipment was recovered. Officials say that suspect has been linked to the bombing, but they have not yet identified him or his nationality.

A Pakistani Taliban suicide bomber blew himself up near a vehicle carrying an area commander of the tribal police in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday The attack killed four people and wounding at least 52. The attacker was on foot and targeted area commander Tehsinullah Khan as his vehicle came out of the headquarters of the tribal police in Jamrud, government administrator Fahad Wazir said. He said Khan survived the attack, but was wounded. Pakistani Taliban spokesman Mohammad Khurasani later claimed the bombing and vowed in a statement to carry out more attacks.
Hundreds stopped from boarding trains in Budapest
Budapest's Eastern Railway Terminus was closed for more than an hour on Tuesday morning after people attempted to enter the station to travel out of Hungary. Government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs said that the country was trying to enforce EU law that requires anyone who wishes to travel within Europe to hold a valid passport and a Schengen visa. Austrian authorities confirmed 3,650 people arrived in Vienna from Budapest, looking to travel on to Germany. Many refugees are hoping to be able to claim asylum in Germany, and Hungary is the gateway to the EU for those crossing boarders by land from nations such as Syria and Afghanistan.

Inflation in the 19-nation eurozone was stable in August at an annual rate of 0.2%, an official report concluded on Tuesday. The European Union's statistics agency, Eurostat, said that a large drop in energy prices made up for increases in the costs of food, alcohol and tobacco, services and industrial goods. The inflation figures remains far below the European Central Bank's aim for an annual rate of just under 2%. The ECB has vowed to push up weak inflation and stimulate growth through a 1.1 trillion euro stimulus program dubbed quantitative easing.

Islamic extremist group Boko Haram killed 56 villagers in a remote area of Borno in Nigeria on Sunday. Nigerian government warned that the extremists are trying to extend their violent campaign Gov Kashim Shettima confirmed the attack in Baanu village during a meeting with the parents of the 219 girls abducted from a school in the region by the extremists last year. Thursday marked 500 days of captivity for the girls.
