Arvind Kejriwal, was born into a middle-class family in Siwani, Haryana on August 16, 1968. Kejriwal, graduate of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur  was sworn in as Delhi's chief minister for the second time on Saturday in a ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan. His Aam Aadmi Party won a historic 67 out of 70 seats in the assembly. It hasn't been a smooth rise of power for Kejriwal, though. He endured a bumpy ride in his first term as chief minister last year and resigned within 49-days because his minority government failed to passing the Jan Lokpal bill on corruption as it had promised in its manifesto.

It's been a long journey for Kejriwal, who joined the Indian Revenue Service as an Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax in 1995 after passing the Civil Services Examination. He started racking up a number of awards and recognition's since his first one in 2004 – the Ashoka Fellowship for civic engagement. Kejriwal became a social activist because he was troubled by the corruption in the Income Tax Department. Later, he joined the Jan Lokpal movement (Indian anti-corruption movement) that took center stage in New Delhi.
