After months of campaigning and finally sweeping Delhi in the assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal is suddenly all over the place. Each one of his speeches and tweets and soundbites has already been thoroughly dissected, but Delhi’s soon-to-be chief minister seems to be beating Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his own game: selfie skills and leveraging the social media.
For the last month, Kejriwal has been present on a new android app called Frankly.me where "you ask questions you always wanted answered". The answers come in the form of short video selfies and Kejriwal seems to have been quite enjoying the interaction.
He was among the first politicians to get on the app, said Abhishek Gupta, one of the app’s developers. “So far, people have asked him more than 9,300 questions but he has been busy in elections.” Even though Kejriwal has answered less than 10 of these so far, Gupta added that Kejriwal is expected to reply to a lot more questions after the election madness gets over. “We hope that other politicians also feel this need to connect to their audience and utilise such platforms to interact with the people who elected them.”
In his answers, Kejriwal tackled all sorts of questions from his plans for security of women in Delhi to his opinion on Kiran Bedi being declared as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s chief ministerial candidate.
