As the February 7 assembly elections in the national capital inch closer, the humour around the political drama is getting sharper. In May, when India went to the polling booth to vote in 543 MPs, a slew of parody accounts popped up on Twitter. Several of these accounts have now been resurrected as the Bharatiya Janata Party's Kiran Bedi battles Arvind Kejriwal for the chief minister's chair.
A parody account Fakeriwal, which claims to be Kejriwal’s diary, is making fun of everything from AAP's manifesto to his antics at rallies.
At the same time, the Marendra Nodi handle has been finding humour in everything the prime minister does, everything from the controversial suit he wore while meeting Obama to his sleepy Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
Another popular parody account, RoflGandhi, seeks to broadcast the thoughts of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi but doesn't lose out on any opportunity to make fun of Kejriwal, Modi or even Bigg Boss.

I'm confident that we will easily create 8 lakh jobs over the next 5 years by asking 8 lakh people to quit their jobs and join AAP.

Dear AAP fans, don't worry, we'll win. FYI - If we don't, me, Yogendra and Ashutosh are planning a sitcom, 'Two and a half activists.'

Am feeling encouraged. Yesterday, my family told me that they voted for Modi as PM, but are thinking about voting for me as CM.

Weird. As I entered the EC building, I saw a sign which said, "All AAP party members must be accompanied by a responsible adult."

Mitron! What's your problem with my 10 lakh suit? It's not as if its your dad's hard earned money? Oh, wait..

No Padma Bhushan award for Kiran ben Bedi. Thinking of compensating her with a Shanti Bhushan award

Take your pick, mitron. Prefer a snoring Defence Minister or a fully awake HRD Minister? pic.twitter.com/xTSt1p1iPR

Mitron! In my DDLJ, the train runs over Simran, but the driver gets a clean chit

Mitron! Amit bhai would have loved to Run for Unity too - if he had believed in either Running or Unity.

A pat on the back from Mukesbhai is all that a PM needs after a day's hard work. *sigh* pic.twitter.com/eOgCnC1Q6V

Mitron! seriously considering limiting our MPs' foreign trips to less than 6 days. Who knows what degree they'll return with?

If AAP wants to maintain its edge over BJP in Delhi, then Ashutosh's phone should be thrown in Yamuna. . . . along with him.
