They’ve already traded pop-cultural reference and they’re both known for their oratory powers. They’ve even done a joint radio show. So why not get Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama to face off in a rap battle? That’s exactly what the folks behind Shudh Desi Raps thought.
The Youtube channel mimics American parody artists who put together rap battles of famous personalities, like Epic Rap Battles of History, which pits Mahatma Gandhi against Martin Luther King to much hilarity.
Shudh Desi Raps is a little more modest, having only one video behind them involving a face-off between Bollywood stars Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan, but they’ve got the timing right for a politically incorrect Modi-Obama battle.
The video takes its rap poetic freedom a bit generously, with quite a few politically incorrect phrases alongside some reasonably funny insults. It ends with Modi promising to pull a Kiran Bedi with Obama, and ensure that he ends up joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
