When Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was released on October 20, 1995, it was clear that it was going to be rather popular. But no one could have predicted that it would become the longest-running movie in Indian cinema. On December 12, DDLJ, as the fans know it, will hit its 1000th week at the iconic Maratha Mandir cinema hall in Mumbai. From trains to mustard fields, this movie starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol still rakes in the audiences.
To celebrate this milestone, Yash Raj Films has a new trailer for everyone to get nostalgic about.
Have you ever thought about what would happen if the movie were to be played in reverse? Well, this is what happens
What if Twitter was around when DDLJ released?
Some Twitter fans instead created some hilarious alternate endings. From Flipkart to the Indian Railways and even Christopher Nolan, Twitter users came up with many unique alternate endings to the iconic movie.
Earlier this year, Imaan Sheikh created some must see spoofs and memes about the film.

DDLJ releases a new trailer for its 1000 weeks in theatres. Fantastic. It's the only way SRK could have one good release this year.

If u play DDLJ in reverse, it's abt a guy pushing a girl off a train, who then returns to her dad to migrate abroad & open a grocery store — Gabbbarsingh (@GabbbarSingh) November 26, 2014

So glad DDLJ released in a pre-Twitter era. Otherwise so many "send us a selfie of you missing a train" contests we would have had. — Rohan (@mojorojo) November 26, 2014
