Around three lakh people in Andhra Pradesh  and Odisha have been evacuated as cyclone Hudhud made landfall just past 11am on Sunday . The eye of the storm hit the city of Vizag. The coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are seeing maximum winds of up to 200 km/hr. Electricity has been down in most areas of these states since last night and isn't expected to be restored before Monday morning.

Six people were killed on Sunday as the storm tore through most parts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha causing roads and railways to shut down.

Three of those people were killed in rain related incidents in Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam, according to the Andhra Pradesh government. One died when a compound wall of a building collapsed while the other two when a tree collapsed following the heavy rains. Tidal waves are expected to be high and inundate low-lying areas.
