Soon after Jammu and Kashmir was hit by the worst flood it had experienced in a century, Vadodara received two continuous days of heavy rain, starting from Tuesday. The Vishwamitri river spilled its banks, submerging several parts of the city. Though the waters have since started to recede, there have been reports of crocodiles from the river following rescue boats.

Though thousands are still stranded in Jammu and Kashmir, relief materials have begun to pour into the state.
