New York's 9/11 memorial museum was opened to the public earlier this year, 13 years after the September 11 terror attacks of 2001. For today's anniversary ceremony, the museum will be open only to victims' relatives and first responders such as firemen and police personnel.

Located on the site of the World Trade Centre, the design plan for the memorial to a tragedy that reshaped the world was prepared in 2004. This time-lapse video documents ten years of construction.
