Another country observing independence from colonial rule today is the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea. Liberated from Japan in 1945, the world’s most isolated regime does not so much as even publish tourist numbers.

Enter Pyongyang documents a day in and around the capital city. The time-lapse video portrays Pyongyang as just another metropolitan city with its daily commuters, swank offices and skyscrapers.

While it is clearly a state-sponsored promotional video , the clip affords a glimpse into a country that is otherwise shrouded in mystery.
