At a meeting of the Kudumbashree women's empowerment movement in Manickal, 40 km from Thiruvananthapuram, 61-year-old Thangamma said that there were fewer pre-monsoon showers these days. But the thing that has changed most of all, she added, is that now her knees hurt much more.
