Pakistan's media regulator PEMRA has suspended for 15 days the license of the country's most watched news channel, Geo. The reason for the extreme step was Geo's public allegation that the country's spy agency, the powerful Inter Services Intelligence, was responsible for a failed assassination attempt on its top anchor, Hamid Mir. Although Geo apologised for its actions, the Jang group-owned channel has also, in a daring move, sued the ISI for defamation.
