As always, Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa's birthday on Monday was celebrated with joy and a touch of eccentricity by the people of her state. To nurture her prime ministerial ambitions, she was gifted a gigantic cake in the shape of Parliament House. Her supporters also put up whimsical posters and banners.
Here are some of the more colourful images.
Fit to lead the nation

A rather lean Jayalalithaa is seen in the poster above wearing a fitted kurta, jacket and evidently waving a very manly hand. Standing against the backdrop of Parliament, the slogan screams “Bharat Mata ki Jai!”
Hardly a child's game

A huge hoarding shows a smiling Jalalalithaa standing in front of an over-sized chess piece. Fondly called the 'unbeaten king' and 'champion' by her supporters, this hoarding could block out the sun.
We applaud you

A somber Jayalalithaa is applauded by the likes of the president of the United States of America, Barack Obama, and North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un.
You reside in our heart

A fan bares his soul.
The red carpet entry

Jayalalithaa is clearly the woman of the moment, as she is shown walking down a red carpet with eminent figures standing by respectfully.
