Oppo India has launched the Reno series here in India. The launch event was hosted in the capital city, New Delhi. The Chinese company introduced two variants for the flagship Reno 10X zoom edition starting at Rs 39,990. On the other hand, the Oppo Reno handset price has been set at Rs 32,990 for the lone model. The pre-ordering starts today and the first sale for the new handsets will begin from June 7th.
The smartphone series has garnered quite a bit of attention ahead of its launch. The notable features of the upcoming Reno phone includes a unique side-swing front camera, an appealing design with full screen display, and a premium chipset on board that is Snapdragon 855 on Reno 10X.
Reno 10X zoom edition is the flagship model here and Reno model is toned-down affordable variant of the flagship. The Reno comes with older generation Qualcomm chipset however the side-swing selfie camera is standard on both variants.
Based on the China pricing for the smartphones, Oppo Reno is expected to be priced around Rs 30,000 while the flagship model is expected to cost upwards of Rs 40,000. The Oppo Reno 10X will take on premium smartphones in the segment such as the OnePlus 7 Pro, Huawei’s P30 Pro and others.
2.20 pm: So overall a total of three models in the Reno series have been launched in India. Two variants of Reno 10X zoom edition and a lone model for Oppo Reno. The pre-order starts today on Oppo India website and the first sale is scheduled for June 7th.
2.17 pm: The Opp Reno 10X zoom will be available at Rs 39,990 for the based model 6GB + 128GB RAM and storage model. The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 49,990. On the other hand, Oppo Reno for the lone 8GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 32,990. All the phones will be retailed via Indian e-commerce site Flipkart India.

2.12 pm: Oppo has its biggest R&D centre in Hyderabad outside the home country, China. Further, the company will launch first flagship experience store in Hyderabad which is also a priority market in India, said Jithin Abraham.
2.10 pm: Oppo also will launch Oppo Reno handset as expected which will feature toned-down features such as a Snapdragon 710 chipset instead of Qualcomm’s 855. The phone gets a dual camera at the rear and a comparatively smaller battery. The screen size is also slightly smaller than Reno 10X zoom edition.
Reno 10X offers numerous features for gamers
2.03 pm: The company has included several notable features on Reno 10x zoom to offer immersive experience for gaming smartphone users. There’s thermal cooling, hyper boost, touch boost, TUV’s gaming certificate and more is on board.
1.53 pm: Rishabh Srivastava, Product Manager at Oppo India takes the stage to explain Oppo’s VOOC charging mechanism. Oppo leads the industry in Mobile charging technology, Mr Srivastava adds. Oppo Reno 10X zoom comes with large 4065 mAh battery capacity.
1.40 pm: The highlight of the flagship Reno 10X hybrid zoom that is the cameras on board. The 10X zoom employs 48MP primary camera, 8MP secondary sensor, and a 13MP telephoto lens. The camera as the moniker suggests superior zooming capabilities allowing for clearer pictures when clicking zoomed-in photos. It also comes with a prism-stabilization which offers better stability when clicking images.
1.34 pm: The flagship Reno phone comes with new AMOLED luminescent material, certification in eye protection by TUV Rheinland, a corning gorilla glass 6 protection and hidden fingerprint unlock 2.0 system. Notable the front side-swing camera has been dubbed as Shark-Fin rising camera.
1.28 pm: Reno 10x zoom edition has a 6.6-inch panoramic display with 93.1 screen to body ratio and it will be available in two colours - ocean green and jet black.
1.24 pm: Reno series doesn not have a rear camera bump and the vertically placed camera setup has been subtly placed under the 3D glass at the rear, says Jithin Abraham, Product Manager at Oppo India.

12.42 pm: Oppo’s Reno series currently has three smartphones in its lineup: Reno, Reno 10X zoom edition and Reno 5G available in China. The Chinese company will be however launching only the first two models - Reno, Reno 10X today in India.
12.38 pm: Just a day ahead of the official India launch of Reno series, Oppo Mobile confirmed another Reno handset for the European market. Reportedly, Reno Z, a budget variant of Reno smartphone will be launched soon in Europe.
12 pm: Oppo’s Reno series launch event can be streamed live on the Chinese company’s official webpage and on YouTube channel.
11.55 am: Oppo Reno 10x zoom editions in China has been set at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 40,200) for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB model. The 256GB storage model is priced at CNY 4,499 (roughly Rs. 45,300), while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant can be purchased for CNY 4,799 (roughly Rs. 48,300).
11.50 am: On the other hand, Oppo’s Reno is available in China in three variants: 6GB RAM/128GB model priced at CNY 2,999 , 6GB RAM + 256GB variant is available for CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 33,300). Lastly, the top-end 8GB RAM + 256GB version carries a price tag of CNY 3,599 (roughly Rs. 36,300).
