The Pocophone from Xiaomi was anticipated to be launched soon, but Xiaomi has surprised everyone by announcing a ‘launch date’ for their Pocophone, the Poco F1. Poco India, the official Twitter handle, Tweeted a poster yesterday that revealed the name of the handset, the launch date and the venue for the event. The Poco F1, now official confirming the rumours, will be launched on August 22nd at an event in New Delhi.
It was only two days ago that we had reported about the likely launch soon, pointing at the series of Tweets from official sources – Poco India, and Jai Mani, the product head for the sub-brand. And, with the launch date scheduled just a week away, we expect the Poco F1 to sport the rumoured Qualcomm snapdragon 845 processor, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Speed and performance have been highlighted in the latest poster as well, calling the Poco F1 a ‘master of speed’. Poco is a Spanish word which translates to ‘little’, paying homage to company’s name ‘Xiao’, which means ‘little’ in Chinese.
Several rumours and even an un-boxing video on the internet have attempted to sort out the specs, but only the official launch will confirm the exact specifications of the Poco F1. Xiaomi is expected to price the smartphone modestly, so as to make it an “affordable offering,” Jai Mani had said in a Tweet.
