Vespa has launched a limited edition Notte 125 at a ‘special introductory price’ of Rs.68,845 (ex-showroom Pune) in India. Piaggio Group, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer, has made this new offering for the Indian market cheaper by Rs.4,000 than the most accessible Vespa.

The Vespa Notte is equipped with the same 125cc engine from the Vespa range, but gets the all-new fully black paint scheme. Vespa dealerships across the country have already started accepting bookings for the Notte 125 for a down payment of Rs.8,999.

The Italian word ‘Notte’ meaning night in English has been chosen to convey the character of the premium scooter. The automatic two-wheeler comes in all-black shade with blackened mirrors, grab rails and wheels. Even the muffler cover on the exhaust is blackened. But this model misses out on front disc brakes and tubeless tyres, features that are available in the Vespa’s portfolio in India. This could be attributed to the lower price tag.

The Notte 125, with its monocoque full steel body construction, comes with a 125cc engine that puts out 10.06PS at 7,500rpm and generates 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm. This unit is identical to that offered by its sibling in the Aprilia SR 125. Aprilla is a subsidiary of the Piaggio Group.
