The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start the registration process for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2018 tomorrow, August 1st, according to Indian Express. All candidates interested in appearing for the CTET 2018 exam can register themselves on the official website, ctet.nic.in. The last date to apply for the exam is August 28th and the last date to pay the fees is August 30th. The exam would be conducted in 92 cities across the country in 20 languages.
CBSE had released the notification for CTET 2018 on June 12th and was supposed to start the registration process from June 22nd until July 19th. The notification created controversy as CBSE had only three language options of English, Hindi and Sanskrit. The CBSE clarified that the move was done to save time and to make the process of examination faster. The board added that it had decided to conduct the first phase of examination in three languages and second phase would have been in the remaining languages.
HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar took note of the controversy and instructed the CBSE to conduct the exam in all 20 languages as it had been doing in previous years. Following this, the CBSE postponed the registration process citing administrative issues.
