BlackBerry India is at it again! On the heels of the BlackBerry Key2 India launch last week, BlackBerry brand licensee for India, Optiemus Infracom, is back again and ready to unveil another offering, it seems, from the international phone maker. The company has sent out media invites for a launch event on August 2nd that will kick off at 11 a.m., NDTV Gadgets has reported.

And, if reports are to be believed, the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X should see the light of day at the event. Unlike the recently launched Key2, these two smartphones won’t feature a QWERTY keypad, according to the report. Instead, they will sport taller displays and slimmer bezels, more in line with the current smartphone trend. What’s more, the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X are said to be rebranded versions of the BlackBerry Ghost and Ghost Pro.

Other rumored features include a dual-camera setup at the back with some manner of low-light enhancements, as well as optical zoom features. The smartphones are also expected to feature 4,000mAh batteries, a report by leading online platform for news on gadgets, BGR, says. While details are scarce, the smartphones could also be powered by the latest Qualcomm processor.

Coming to the phone that has been unveiled, the BlackBerry Key2, a 4.5-inch smartphone with a Qwerty keypad underneath, will be going on sale via Amazon India starting today, July 31st. The phone comes at a price of Rs.42,990 and should attract fans of qwerty keypads.
