The rumour mill surrounding the Pixel 3 has been on a spree, with Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL leaks surfacing every couple of weeks. Earlier, video renders and dimensions leaked by tipster website Slashleaks revealed details about the phones’ design elements. Now, the two smartphones have been spotted on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) again, further confirming their existence.

According to a recent report by Droidlife, a site specializing in Android news, the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, codenamed ‘crosshatch’ and ‘blueline’, have been spotted on AOSP. Google, in the past too, had chosen names of fish as codenames for its devices.

According to the information available online, AOSP is a repository that offers the information and source code required to create custom variants of the Android stack, port devices and accessories to the Android platform, and ensure that devices meet compatibility requirements.

Though nothing specific has been revealed about which device corresponds to which model or codename, in terms of fish, the blueline is the bigger of the two... not that that’s definitive proof that the blueline will be the Pixel 3 XL and the crosshatch the Pixel 3. However, that has been the case in the past, the Droidlife report adds.

What could be gathered from earlier leaks is that the Pixel 3 XL is expected to get a notched display, with slimmer bezels. The Google Pixel 3 would likely sport a 5.4-inch display, while the Pixel 3 XL will feature a 6.2-inch display. The camera setup details also can be noticed from the leaked renders.

Nothing is certain yet and these are still rumours. Only an official launch, expected in October, should clear matters up. Google launched its first generation Pixel phone as well as its successor for the badge, the Pixel 2, in the month of October, and is expected to follow the tradition this time as well.
