The Nokia X5 was scheduled to be announced in China on July 11th. However, the unveiling was postponed owing to some last minute issues at the venue, according to Gizbot. HMD Global-owned Nokia took to Weibo to apologize for the cancellation of the Nokia X5 launch.
According to a report by Chinese gadget review site, GizChina, the Nokia X5 could be launched in China on July 17th. HMD Global hasn’t provided any new date for the announcement of the device. However, a photo spotted on the official Nokia Mobile Chinese website via ITHome before the earlier launch event revealed that the phone will be priced around 799 yuan (approx. Rs.8,200).
Leaked images of the Nokia X5, to be launched globally as the Nokia 5.1, seem to suggest that the device will boast a 5.86-inch IPS display with a notch on top, as seen on the Nokia X6. And as per information from the TENAA listing site, the X5 could well be equipped with an octa-core MediaTek or Snapdragon SoC, paired with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage space.
It is believed the Nokia X5 will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery and run Android Oreo with stock OS. Existence of dual rear camera is expected as well.
