Sony isn’t shifting its focus away from mid-range phones it seems, something evident from the latest introduction of the Xperia XA2 Plus. The smartphone maker has revealed on the official SonyMobile blog that the Xperia XA2 Plus will have notable features such as an 18:9 display as well as Sony’s Hi-Res Audio technology and unique DSEE HX audio upscaling technology.
The company had launched the Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra, both mid-range phones, earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018. The Xperia XA2 Plus is bigger than the Xperia XA2 and comes with a 6-inch Full HD Plus display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.
The smartphone boasts of the same 23MP MotionEye camera and Snapdragon 630 chipset as its XA2 siblings, but is a bit more ergonomic due to narrower bezels and taller display. There is a single camera at the front, an 8MP 1/4-inch Exmor R sensor with a 120-degree super wide-angle lens that aids in photographing more of the background when capturing selfies.
The camera comes with plenty of software features too, such as the Bokeh Mode, Soft Skin, and other face-altering effects. The Xperia XA2 Plus also features 4K movie recording and 120fps slow motion video capture.
The new Xperia XA2 Plus will also feature the company’s power saving technologies and its adaptive charging, which Sony claims will give you hours of power with just minutes of charging.
The Xperia XA2 Plus will be launched on Android 8.0 Oreo from late August 2018 in four new colours, Silver, Black, Gold and Green, and will be available in single SIM and dual SIM options.

This dual-SIM (nano) phone will be made available in four colours and offer Sony’s unique Digital Sound Enhancement Engine HX technology.
