India’s under-19 team got their Junior Asia Cup campaign off to a flying start with a 235-run victory over Malaysia in the opener on Thursday, PTI reported.
Batting first, India posted 289 for eight. Seventeen-year-old of Prithvi Shaw was the top-scorer with a knock of 89. Half-centuries by skipper Abhishek Sharma and Het Patel built on Shaw’s early aggression.
In reply, Malaysia were bowled out for just 54, as Kamlesh Nagarkoti picked up a four-wicket haul. Sharma capped off a fine match by also taking two wickets in 5 overs.
