The All India Football Federation will look seek fresh tenders for the forthcoming I-League season after the bid evaluation committee chose not to clear bids from three applicants for a chance to participate in the country’s elite football league.
The committee, comprised of general secretary Kushal Das, senior vice president Subrata Dutt and I-League CEO Sunando Dhar, met at the AIFF headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The trio evaluated bids from three clubs- Minerva Academy FC, FC Bardez Goa and Chennai City FC. However, upon evaluation, the committee decided to go for a fresh round of tendering.
The development comes a day after Sporting Clube de Goa officially withdrew from India’s top-tier competition.
Reports suggest that other Goa-based clubs such as Salgaocar FC and Dempo are also set to withdraw from the tournament.
