Republican candidate Donald Trump was rushed off stage in the middle of his campaign speech in Reno, Nevada, on Saturday night (local time) because of security concerns, Reuters reported. The presidential nominee returned to the stage after a few minutes, and said, "We will never be stopped."

Two Secret Service agents grabbed Trump by his shoulders and took him backstage after a man in the crowd shouted that someone had a gun, The New York Times reported. Local news channels showed a man being handcuffed and escorted out of the venue by security officers. Trump resumed his rally speech moments later. The Secret Service said they did not find a gun on the man. Investigators have yet to confirm his identity.

The man is believed to have been holding a sign that read "Republicans Against Trump”. Trump will hold one more rally before the November 8 election.

Authorities in the United States have warned of possible terror attacks in the country around election day. Three states – New York, Texas and Virginia – have been alerted about possible al-Qaeda attacks. The threats have not been confirmed, but they are being investigated. US authorities have also warned that Russia, whom they believe were connected to hacks on political organisations including the Democratic National Committee, may interfere with the polls.
