Atletico de Kolkata had never beaten Delhi Dynamos in their past four encounters in the Indian Super League, losing once and drawing thrice. However, on Saturday, at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium in Kolkata, Atletico de Kolkata’s Iain Hume changed the script by taking his side to 1-0 win. This was Kolkata’s first win at home and they now are second on the table with nine points.

The first half was a drab affair with both teams failing to break the deadlock. However, the second half was a fiery affair with Henrique Sereno of Kolkata getting red-carded in the 74th minute of the match. However, there was more drama as Delhi’s Marcelinho kicked his penalty wide. Kolkata then pressed forward as Jewel Raja Shaikh beat Chinglesana Konsham Singh to cut in, but was brought down by Lalchhawnkima with the referee pointing to the spot. Hume scored from the spot to give Kolkata the win.
