Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said the Pakistan's entire establishment was “engaged in fueling terrorism in India”, PTI reported. Singh said India did not have "any ill-will against the people of Pakistan", it was only against state-sponsored militancy. He also offered to conduct anti-terror operations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir for the “closure of terror factories” in the region.

“Pakistan is so much obsessed with some issues that neither it can benefit others nor it can see its own welfare,” Singh said at the Regional Editors Conference in Chandigarh. Islamabad’s “obsession” with Jammu and Kashmir had reached “such a level” that it could not “tell apart a terrorist from a freedom fighter”, the home minister said in an apparent reference to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s reference to Burhan Wani, the Hizbul Mujahideen militant who was killed on July 8.

Singh further said that Pakistan was being steadily isolated in South Asia and the global community because it had adopted terrorism as a state policy. As far as India’s intention is concerned, we want to eliminate terrorism from the entire region,” he said. The home minister’s remarks came one day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the “mothership” of terrorism was located in “India’s neighbourhood”. “Terror modules around the world are linked to this mothership,” Modi had said at a summit of the Brics (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) nations in Goa on Sunday.

Hostilities between India and Pakistan have worsened since the September 18 attack on an Indian Army base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector. While India believes Pakistan was involved in the attack, Islamabad maintains that there is no evidence to support the accusation. The Indian Army announced on Thursday, September 29, that it had carried out “surgical strikes against terror launchpads” in along the LoC.
