Aspiring writers, we're looking at you. Haven't you often complained about the lack of quality creative writing workshops in India? That you cannot get feedback on your writing from critically acclaimed authors? Or that your writing never seems to be published in a leading Indian magazine?
Well, here's the answer: an intensive creative writing workshop with writers Amit Chaudhuri and Romesh Gunesekera, which will be held in Kolkata between November 25 and December 3 . It is being organised by the University of East Anglia, in partnership with the British Council, Caravan magazine, and the Tata Steel Kolkata Literary Meet, and this is the eighth edition. A selection of the writing produced by the end of the eight-day workshop will be published in Caravan.
The fee? Rs 25,000, and that’s only the workshop. You’ll also have to pay for your own travel and stay, unless you actually live in Kolkata. Full details, including how to apply, are here. The deadline for applications is 5 pm IST on October 14, 2016.
