The Indian Army has said that Pakistani markings were found on arms recovered from militants during an infiltration attempt that took place on Thursday. Four militants had been killed in the incident, and ammunition, inflammables and medicines had been seized from them. On Saturday, the Army said that some materials recovered resembled those used in separate attacks at Poonch (on September 11) and Uri (on September 18).

An Army spokesperson told PTI, “Pakistan Ordinance Factory markings on hand grenades (ARGES 84) and UBGL grenades seized from the terrorists confirms Pakistan’s complicity in abetting terrorism”. He said that inflammable material, including six plastic explosive slabs, six bottles of petroleum jelly, six bottles of inflammable liquid and lighters were among the items seized from the militants.

The Army’s statement comes as bilateral ties between India and Pakistan have deteriorated after the attack on an Indian Army installation in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri, and lndia launching "surgical strikes" along the Line of Control. India has accused Islamabad of being involved in the Uri attack, while Pakistan has dismissed the allegations as baseless.
