Nihal Raj from Kochi, Kerala, runs a cooking channel on YouTube. There’s hundreds of such channels on the video sharing site. What’s so special about Raj’s channel, KichaTube HD?

Simple: He is only six years old, which mean he is only a year into primary school. But he already knows how to make tender coconut pudding and garlic fried rice. Facebook even acquired non-exclusive rights to his mango ice cream video for $2,000 in May.

The latest feather in his cap? On a recent visit to the United States, Raj or Kicha became the youngest Indian to appear on actor Ellen DeGeneres's talkshow. He showed her how to make Puttu, a steamed rice cake, using a Putti Kutti or Puttu maker. Obviously, the alliterative qualities of the product were mined by DeGeneres for comedy.

Amused by the youngster’s enthusiasm for cooking, she let him do most of the talking, occasionally asking questions like:

“But you’re not working what sharp knives or fire or anything, right?”

“Yeah, that means I am not an expert, but after nine years old I’ll be an expert.”

She even tried to hurry things along but failed.

"Should we mix all these together?"

"After I tell all the ingredients."
