Indian badminton player Srikanth Kidambi lost to world No. 3 Lin Dan 6-21 21-11 18-21 in an exciting quarter-final clash on Wednesday. Dan now faces Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei for a place in the final on Friday.
In the first game, Dan raced to a 10-1 lead after a serious of errors from Kidambi. Lin Dan, the defending champion, appeared to be in cruise control and easily won the first game 21-6.
In the second game, Kidambi roared off the blocks, cruising to a 6-2 lead. He soon opened up a 16-9 lead and eventually completed a marvellous comeback, winning the second game 21-11.
The third and crucial game began with the pressure clearly on Lin Dan. Both players started trading smashes with the score tied at 7-7. However, Kidambi soon took a 11-8 lead. But Dan made a comeback, tying the score at 13-13. The game went down to the wire with Dan eventually winning the crucial last few points to win the game 21-18.
