Helen Fielding has written Bridget Jones’s Baby: The Diaries, which will be published on October 11 by Jonathan Cape. The corresponding film will already have been released by the time the book is out.
After the runaway success of the first two Bridget Jones books, Helen Fielding had published a third one in 2013, set in the future, in which Bridget's children are grown up and Mark Darcy has been dead for five years.Thankfully, this book is set closer in the timeline of the first two books – during her first pregnancy:
“As she careers towards baby-deadline, tortured by Smug Mothers miming her ticking biological clock, a series of classic Bridget Jones moments finally leads her into pregnancy – but just not quite as intended. It’s a pregnancy full of cheesy potatoes, outlandish advice… chaos at scans and childbirth classes, high jinks and romance, joy and despair – but all of it dominated by the terribly awkward question: ‘Who’s the Father?’”
